The senior missionaries held their yearly mission conference this year in Brasov. We had a lot of inspiring and fun workshops, ate lots of good food, and saw a few tourist sites. We enjoyed getting together and sharing testimonies one with another.

Raising the bar?It was a great experience to watch these men lift the board from the ground to the top. They all participated as the senior missionaries watched from below. The renovated restaurant is really a great place to eat in Sinaia.

Elder and Sora VanWagoner are amazing ballroom dancers. They taught us all how to dance (or tried to, anyway.) It was a lot of fun. We also celebrated three of the senior missionaries birthdays that night.
We went to a Mexican food restaurant one night in Brasov, and we were entertained by Elder Dummar and the hombre on the right. It was lots of fun! Elder Dummar speaks Spanish and requested the song they sang!
The sad, but very real part of this trip for me was meeting Elena. She lives on the streets and stops in at the church from time to time for warmth and food if available. She grew up in an orphanage and has 4 children in orphanages. She wanders the streets begging. Her new red shoes were purchased for her from the lady across the street from the church who sells bus tickets. She sometimes gives food to Elena.
This is behind the back fence of the church where Elena sleeps. When nights are too cold, she goes into the blocs and sleeps in the stairwells. She says she cuddles with a puppy to keep warm.
